The beautiful handmade and limited edition Egg Serving Plate. A collaboration between Shaily Lipa and ceramicist Yaara Nir-Cahlon. You can serve almost anything in it: hard boiled eggs, stuffed eggs, lettuce cups filled with salad or ceviche, savory or sweet latkes, small cheese sticks, pastries, chocolate covered strawberries, fruits, dried apricots, nuts, candies, cookies and more.
Now that the strawberries are at their peak, here's a recipe for chocolate covered strawberries. Healthy, vegan, easy and delicious.
Ingredients for 16 strawberries:
150 grams of broken dark chocolate
1 tablespoon of regular oil (canola or tahini)
16 medium-sized strawberries (preferably with a stem), washed and dried on paper towel
For decoration (optional):
Edible gold dust (found in baking stores)
Instructions:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave or over a double boiler (bain-marie).
Add the oil and mix well until combined.
Grab the stem of the strawberry, if there is no stem pierce the strawberry with a toothpick, and dip each one almost completely in the chocolate mixture, leaving a little of the red part. We carefully remove the excess chocolate and place it on the parchment paper. You can dip the tip of a small spoon in gold dust and sprinkle it over the chocolate, while the chocolate is still liquid. Be careful with the dust, you only need a tiny bit.
Transfer to the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes so that the chocolate will set.
Transfer the chocolate-covered strawberries to the egg plate only when the chocolate has hardened completely.
